There is nothing tranquil about comedian/actor Chris Tucker! A limber, wiry fellow with a high-pitched voice and a delivery as fast as a mosquito's wing beats, he seems energy incarnate. Tucker first started out on the LA comedy scene in the Nineties, on the Def Comedy Jam circuit at age 20, where his love of stand-up brought him widespread acclaim. Stand-up comedy aside, he's also well known for playing the role of Detective James Carter opposite Jackie Chan in the Rush Hour film series. Nowadays he is back on the stage, bringing his humor draws upon this and his early life, switching seamlessly between different personas.

Hilarious as you see him in the movies
Saw Chris Tucker at Hard Rock Ottawa and had a great night overall.
Before the show, my son, a friend, his son, and I grabbed dinner at YouYu Restaurant. I had the Chloe Chicken and a beer, which was a good start to the evening.
The venue is beautiful, modern, and comfortable. The odd part was that the ticket said 7:00 PM, but the show didn't start until about 8:30 PM. That long wait was made even more noticeable because everyone's phone was locked in a pouch upon entry. I understand the goal was to prevent recordings and leaks, but not having access to my phone for 90 minutes before the show was frustrating.
Once the comedy started, it was worth it. The opening act was funny, and Chris Tucker was hilarious from start to finish. Great energy, great stories, quick crowd interaction, and plenty of laughs throughout the 90-minute set.
