What is the story?

A Christmas Carol follows the miserly, misanthropic creditor Scrooge, who continues to be just as stingy and greedy as usual at Christmas time, when others' thoughts turn to kindness and sharing. After a Christmas eve day spent yelling at charity workers and snubbing a Christmas dinner invitation from his good-natured nephew Fred, Scrooge is visited by three magical spirits that take him on a journey into his past, present and future in a bid to show him the error of his curmudgeonly ways.
