About American Football

Formed in Urbana, Illinois in 1997, the band originally existed for just a brief moment before quietly disbanding, leaving behind their self-titled 1999 debut on Polyvinyl Record Co.. Shortly after, LP1 slowly became one of the most influential emo and indie records of all time. They followed their debut with two critically acclaimed records, American Football (LP2) in 2016 and American Football (LP3) in 2019, both of which debuted on the Billboard charts and further expanded their textured, introspective sound.
