Tina Turner has sadly passed at 83

The Queen of Rock n Roll November 26, 1939 - May 24, 2023

It brings us great sadness to announce the passing of the legendary Tina Turner, born Anna Mae Bullock. A statement from her spokesperson reads "Tina Turner, the "Queen of Rock'n Roll" has died peacefully today at the age of 83 after a long illness in her home in Ksnacht near Zurich, Switzerland."

Tina Turner's incredible career is the stuff of a music legend, with her iconic songs and inspiring story. She has tackled more than just the music industry but also the Broadway world when she played the character of Acid Queen in "The Who's Tommy" in 1993, the role she had previously played in the film adaptation and in recent years a Broadway musical based on her life, Tina - The Tina Turner Musical'. The musical tells the story of Tina's extraordinary life and career, from her childhood days in Nutbush to her turbulent marriage and stratospheric success. It first premiered on the West End back in 2018, gaining three Olivier nominations. After receiving rave reviews, it was rightfully placed on Broadway in November 2019, and since then the musical has been performed worldwide including touring productions.

Tina had unimaginable strength and overcame many hurdles in the beginning of her career, after battling her way through the industry she went on to become one of the most influential artists of all time. Selling close to 200 million albums worldwide, and bringing out timeless hits Proud Mary', Simply The Best' and What's Love Got To Do With It'. Tina will always continue to be one of the best-selling artists of all time with 12 Grammy Awards amongst many other awards.

Though the world has lost an iconic role model, we will continue to honor her by listening to her music and celebrating her life, she will always be simply the best.
