James & Bonnie
Last night went to see James Taylor at the Dunk in Providence. It was probably my 20th time seeing him, and he didn’t disappoint! He has new high tech sets and screens that just made the show so personal and intimate for a good size arena! Bonnie’s voice is as clear and strong as urs ever been and their love and respect for each other was clear and that made the show so emotional and personal. They sang 3 songs together and they both had the amazing Arnold McCuller backing them up with his gorgeous vocals. His voice is slightly changed, he is almost 70 years old but he more than makes up for it with the incredible heart and life experience he puts into all of his unforgettable classics! Highly recommend seeing him!!!
What a show!
We saw JT a couple of years ago and I didn't think he could ever put on a better show - was I wrong!!! Both he and Bonnie were spectacular! After all these years to still have the vocal quality they both have is remarkable. Very entertaining and quite "personal" for such a large crowd. Both performers engaged the audience. Sets, graphics / media, and stories were terrific. Would highly recommend to any age group to see these legends. Certainly brought back a lot of good memories.
James & Bonnie in Buffalo July 1st - great show!
A mostly full Key Bank Center enjoyed a fabulous night of late 60's to early 2000's music classics. Starting right on time, Bonnie did a 60 minute set, introduced by JT, with current and classic (Nick of Time) rhythm & blues. Mosty rockin, Bonnie took time to sing a blues acoustic solo along with a nice finish Ishmael with JT. Bonnie's voice is as good as ever, smooth & soul sounding. James Taylor background set with multiple video clips & graphics was impressive as was the band including sax, trumpet, flute and Mexican drum & rhythm man. Great sound, lots of JT classics from Carolina On My Mind to Fire & Rain to...you name it for 95 minutes of classic James Taylor. 3 person vocals were spot on with harmonies with JT. Overall, well prepared, seamless, great sounding & classic. Beautiful show... Bob Buffalo, NY
Bonnie Raitt/James Taylor
I was honored to see & enjoy the vast musical talents of Bonnie & her band & James with his band, on 6/25/18 in Grand Rapids, MI. They were both top notch & I was thrilled to see them, having loved them both, since the 70s. They’ve assembled superb bands featuring talented artists & both Bonnie & James introduced their band members & let them have solo moments to shine. They each played many familiar favorites and I was reminded again what great storytellers they each are. The songs & their demeanor spoke of love. It was a peaceful evening of fantastic music! The audience was enthralled, and many were singing along. It truly was a magical night! The venue was very large, but cozy, had comfy seats, was organized getting in & out, & there were a number of food & beverage choices inside the venue. I live about 90 minutes south of Grand Rapids, but it was an easy drive, parking was readily available & I’m sure I’ll be returning soon.
BETTER WITH AGE
Bonnie Raitt and James Taylor both put on stellar performances last evening. We've seen Bonnie many times and I believe this was her strongest supporting band. We've seen James Taylor a few times and we enjoyed his different arrangements to some of his best songs. It's the first time we've seen him with a production like this and it was special. He also talked about the background of several songs. Both performers seemed very relaxed, humble, awed by their bands to whom they bestowed immense credit and were not in a hurry. I think that comes with age and survival. On a sad note, we were unfortunate to sit in front of a woman who talked incessantly during songs.. Another patron and I had to ask her to be quite. Is it me or is this becoming more prevalent? I can't imagine paying significant dollars for a seat at a concert, any concert, and thinking you are somehow more entertaining than the performers on stage. What's the matter with these people?
Fantastic night With J.T. and Bonnie Raitt in Indy
The "Worlds Greatest Sports Arena" (Bankers Life Fieldhouse) turned into a concert hall for 12,000 lucky fans as James Taylor and Bonnie Raitt serenaded them with timeless songs that touches multiple generations. A great evening that will keep me singing J.T. tunes for a long, long time.
