The nutty professor, Jul 25, 2012
reviewer: Linda brown from Nashville
Attended opening night during preview week. Cast and music
definitely Broadway caliber. Choreography equally as good.
One scene in second act could have been a little shorter. That
is my only suggestion. I would definitely recommend the show
lots of Fun!!

Remarkable Cast - Lack of Choruses, Jul 27, 2012
reviewer: Kathie Cunningham Hill from Nashville
What a thrill to see the Nutty Professor preview. The cast was Broadway caliber. The set was a treat in design, color and creativity & what a band! Their presence on stage in the Act 2 rally rallied the audience & had they opened that act as the Buddy Love Club band, that repeated set would have seemed like a brand new show.
The leads were stellar singers & actors that kept this from being a one man show. And though tied to the 60's genre the former O-Land choreographer kept her dancer/singer/actors on their A game.
But her chorus line is the only chorus I remember. Sans the "Buddy" songs, many seemed like remakes of "Wicked" tunes in lyrics & style. But I don't leave a show quoting lyrics or humming great arrangements & Big River put more music in my head than Nutty Professor.
Maybe they can add a What I Did for Love or Because I Knew You before Broadway. Also opening with the marching band/cheerleader number song would add energy & better set up the Professor's explosive entrance

A great film comedy becomes a great stage musical, Aug 01, 2012
reviewer: Kevin Barry from Cincinnati, OH
My grandson and I are huge Jerry Lewis fans and we had our tickets for the first preview of this show for weeks (6th row center!). We drove from Cincinnati to Nashville with high expectations and we weren't disappointed - the show is a magical toybox that delighted us from first explosion to standing ovation. Terrific cast, inventive sets, tuneful score - all under the supervision of the master, Jerry Lewis. When the man himself walked on stage after the curtain calls it was the cherry on top of the sundae! Broadway is starving for an original musical in the classic tradition and this is the one to fill the bill.

Future Broadway Hit, Jul 29, 2012
reviewer: Gamma Moses from Nashville
Grandma (me) took grandkids (ages 14, 12, 8). We all enjoyed it.
The acting, dancing, singing were of Broadway quality. Play
opens with a bang--literally--an explosion of paper spews out
of the stage followed by the nutty professor, Michael Andrew. He
plays both the nutty professor and the suave playboy the nutty
professor transforms into. I thought it was 2 actors but my
granddaughter rightly told me it was the same actor Andrew. In
the beginning of the play the transformation is not visible to the
audience, but by the end of the play Andrew is doing the
transformation in full view of the audience. It was amazing. The
other actors, Klea Blackhurst, Mark Jacoby, Marissa McGowan,
Jamie Ross, the ensemble dancing were truly professional and
enjoyable. To top it off, during the ovation at the end of the play,
Jerry Lewis appeared onstage and was as quick witted as ever.
Don't know if he does this for every performance, but it was
appreciated by this viewer and my grandkids saw a legend.
